A few quick tips for people who've just registered

If you're on this page, you've probably just registered for The Three Bridges Race.  Here's a few quick tips:

1. If you've registered, thanks. Please don't register again!

2. If you've registered, you may not receive an email for some time, but you will receive an email from the organisers prior to the next race letting you know the details of the race, and telling you to sign up for that next race. You need to sign up for every race.

3. If you've registered late, you may not receive that email from the organisers until after the next race. We close new race registrants on the Friday before the next race.

4. Once a month, we update the list of runners. If you can find your name on this list, it means your registration has been processed. You'll be able to see your race number and handicap on the list.  Link is here https://www.threebridgesrace.uk/runners.

5. It's a staggered start race. We start on the Albert Embankment side of Westminster Bridge, just down the steps. There is a course map here https://www.threebridgesrace.uk/map.

6. Bring some safety pins and a piece of card with your race number on to pin on your shirt. Your number is for life so don't forget it. We sometimes bring card, but don’t rely on us.

7. The race officially starts at 12.30pm, but some slower runners go off earlier. There is a race briefing at 12.25pm.

8. The race is entirely run by volunteers. We ask that you volunteer on occasions. There is a page about volunteering here https://www.threebridgesrace.uk/racevolunteer.

9. If we’ve done our predictions etc correctly, you should all finish at exactly the same time. Obviously that won’t happen, but do hang around for the thanks and winning ceremony.

10. At the end of each race, we hand out the Hanscomb Trophy to the first in. New runners that haven’t run the race before are not eligible to win.

11. There are no race marshalls. You are responsible for your own safety and the organisers do not accept any liability. Don’t run if you feel unwell. The nearest defibrillator is at the London Aquarium - County Hall. There are two others close by - one at Tesco in Westminster, and one close to Smiths Square at 4 Dean Stanley Street.  More here.

12. The main communication is through the WhatsApp group. The link to join is here https://www.threebridgesrace.uk/whatsapp

13. We also have a Strava group.  Link here https://www.strava.com/clubs/1181324

14. We start the race in waves. You are responsible for knowing your own wave, and being on the start line on time.

15. We hope you enjoy being part of a very historic race, that has been going since 1977!  There's more about the history here https://www.threebridgesrace.uk/history
