1) Although the race officially starts at 12.30, we start the stopwatch at 12.25 and some slower runners with a predicted time of 30 minutes start about this time. if your predicted time is slower, you'll be in Wave XX - which means we'll start you on a separate stopwatch.
2) We have a briefing at 12.25, so make sure you're ready and warmed up by this time.
2) Ensure you have a visible number on the front of your shirt. Bring a piece of card and some safety pins as 'our' supply is limited.
3) We have a wave system to start each runner. You're responsible for knowing your wave, the start time of the wave and the stopwatch time. You are responsible for being at the start line at the correct time - we won't be calling out names, we'll just call our waves. Here's the times for each wave https://www.threebridgesrace.uk/waves. There will be at least one large stopwatch for runners to check at the start.
4) Whilst chatting to runners is part of the 'fun', always listen out for anything that the timer / organiser is trying to say. If you miss your wave...it's your fault. If you do miss your wave, please tell an official at the end, so we get the times right.
5) As you cross the finish line, take a token from the numbers official who should be on the line with the timer. Then take your token to the field results official. Do not take the token away.
6) The perfect set-up is for there to be four helpers. A timer, a number person, a field results person and an organiser. If we have less, it'll mean that we'll need to be extra efficient. So, consider volunteering to help as this race only continues because of the efforts of those that run in it and help out.
7) Join the WhatsApp group: Three Bridges Race. Visit the web site regularly and, ideally, just before each race.
